The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) recently passed a patent for Apple's head-mounted device. The design concept is similar to Google's Daydream and Samsung's Galaxy Gear VR, which combines the phone with a lens-like headset and then borrows it. The phone software presents VR or AR images.
The patent was originally proposed in early 2015, showing that although Apple has a strong mobile ecology, the layout speed of virtual reality is still behind other competitors in the market. The document pointed out that Apple may launch a VR device that relies on the iPhone, but the body has some functions, such as a separate processor, ROM / RAM, distance sensor, camera lens, touchpad, and even Home button, backwards Button, volume button and battery. There is also a focal length dial next to the fuselage to zoom the field of view in VR mode.

Apple also offers a remote-like product that lets users interact with VR content, and the design is very similar to Daydream. Although it's just a patented illustration, this remote looks like an old iPod or a turntable remote from Apple TV 3.
Interestingly, the file also pointed out that this VR headset seems to support not only some special VR content, such as movies, websites or games, but also supports "VR-based iOS", for example, allowing users to read in VR state. The iOS built-in App email, the picture will be similar to suddenly "snap" a window in the air, then display the notifications on the iPhone and so on.
Although the layout speed is significantly slower than the opponent's shot, but Apple's expertise has always been to bring products or services to the market quickly, so analyst Guo Mingxi also pointed out that Apple will probably launch its own VR service or product within 1-2 years.
