Yesterday, Misha Sra, a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab, used Google's AR platform Tango to create an AR scene "Oasis" using his home model.
The most amazing thing is that this student wears a full immersive VR helmet and walks in the "Oasis," but he can't hit the wall at home.
He first took the iPad and used Tango to scan the scene in his home to form a 3D model.
Next, based on this model, he developed an environment, an oasis with grassy animals, and based on Tango's 3D model, using fences and shrubs to define their own moving boundaries.
Next, he put on a VR helmet and tried to walk around in his home, but he wouldn't hit the wall at all!
The most amazing thing is that he tried to scan the chairs of his home and made a raised rock in another scene. Let another friend try to sit in a helmet.
