Yiguang Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Yiguang") issued a press release today (5th). The company filed a patent infringement lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court on April 25, 2017, accusing Japan Nichia Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Day" "Asian"), Citizen Electronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Citizen City") and Daguang Electric Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Daguang") infringe the patented technology of Yiguang.
Yiguang asked the court to issue an injunction against the COB (chip on board) products of Nichia and Citizen, as well as the large-scale automotive products equipped with the COB, including prohibition of trafficking, manufacturing, import and export, inventory destruction and damages. The COB product is characterized in that a plurality of LED chips are directly packaged on a substrate, and has a high density and uniform light output, and is suitable for lighting purposes.
Yiguang reiterated its consistent position of respecting intellectual property rights and fully defended the rights of customers and shareholders. It must not take legal action against infringement.
