ORA lighting system design simulation software LightTools launched version 7.0

In February of this year, ORA (Optical Research Associate), the global optical design authority, launched a new version of 7.0 for its lighting system design simulation software product LightTools. LightTools 7.0 provides superior lighting design capabilities, including object light source, reverse tracking, color analysis, Ray report and operator interface improvements, and reinforcements for each database.
LightTools 7.0 provides reverse tracking of each grid on the illuminometer, intensity meter, and luminance meter (spatial luminance and angular luminance), so energy and color analysis data for each grid can be obtained. The object light source sets a 3D object or a import object arbitrarily constructed within LightTools as a light source.
The new LightTools 7.0 improves the color analysis component and provides color rendering (CRI) analysis of 15 standard color patches. Its Ray Report provides various light information such as energy loss caused by contact with optical components during ray tracing. In addition, the operation interface is more user-friendly, including 3D design window interface, forward tracing and reverse tracing operation interface, improvement of building body light source and surface light source tree column, and adding shortcut keys for previewing light.
With its global acuity and global experience, LightTools 7.0's database has also been updated to include: Sun Track Editor operator interface improvements, single-axis and dual-axis rotation path tracking, IES and LDT readable files The format, Fresnel Lens can be optimized, and the image data function can also convert the picture's light distribution curve or spectrum into LightTools readable data file format.
In addition, a database of light sources and materials has been added, including a database of 85 BSDFs and 27 LED databases from Seoul Semiconductor, as well as a biological database of human tissue materials.
