Observing the overall chip factory revenue in Taiwan in October, the revenue of 2.271 billion Taiwan dollars (MoM-1.9%, YoY-17.3%), the decline in the economy makes the demand not as good as in previous years. The leading manufacturer, Jingdian, had a revenue of NT$903 million in October, with a monthly growth rate of -2.1%. The lack of demand made the capacity utilization rate low. The revenue of the company was sharply declining. The revenue in October was only NT$93 million, which was 26.6% lower than that in September. The main reason was that the LED backlight specification conversion required by customers could not keep up with the short-term products. In the new century, Optoelectronics' revenue in October was NT$141 million, benefiting from the strong domestic demand market, so the monthly revenue reached a record high for 8 consecutive months.
As for the downstream LED package, revenue in October was about 3.576 billion (MoM-3.1%, YoY-7.3%), and revenue performance was already weak compared to last month and the same period last year. Only some of the vendors in the ethnic group performed well. For example, manufacturers such as Everlight and Lite-On benefit from the strong demand for LEDNB backlights, and revenues can still maintain above 1 billion yuan. Huaxing, due to the rapid shipment of LED frozen light strips, in addition to its display in the US market, its LED light strips also entered the convenience store freezer in Taiwan, making the revenue performance in October more prominent than its peers.
Overall, Taiwan's LED manufacturers' revenue performance in October began to enter the off-season. It is estimated that by the end of the first quarter of next year, the overall demand is still not good, and it may be necessary to wait until the second quarter of next year, market demand will slowly recover.
