Backlight is still the main driver market
In the first quarter of this year, as brand TV manufacturers pushed the new LED TV models to market, large-size panel LED backlight orders took the lead in warming up. Among them, Lunda and Dongbei benefited the most, and the monthly revenue of the two companies increased by more than 14%.
Since then, under the dual drive of backlight and lighting, in addition to Lian Ying, other LED packaging plants in the second quarter of the revenue are better than the first quarter, but only 5 more than 20%. Among them, Dongbei's growth rate was as high as 77.7%, Qiqi Optoelectronics was 64%, Guangbao increased by 30.5%, and Longda and Hongkai Optoelectronics increased by 20%.
According to the first-half revenue data released by various packaging factories, there were only 5 companies with growth last year, and the remaining 11 companies experienced different levels of performance decline. In terms of growth, benefiting from the growth in demand for LED lighting, except for the high growth of ç‰æ˜Žæ–¯å…‰ç”µ's performance of 87%, other manufacturers have seen a slight increase in performance; while in terms of recession, only Yiguang has experienced a slight decline in performance, and the remaining two. The decline in the performance of third-tier manufacturers was mostly between 15% and 30%.

Overall, in the first half of 2012, the total revenue of 16 LED packaging companies in Taiwan was about 5.595 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 5% (see Figure 1). As the price of LED packaging products fell by more than 30%, the overall shipments of packaging plants in the first half of the year showed a significant increase year-on-year. Among them, the shipments of Yiguang, Longda and Dongbei are mainly based on backlights, supplemented by LED lighting. Edison has been dominated by LED lighting, which accounts for more than 90% of the company's total revenue.
From the performance of the LED packaging factory in the first half of the year, the two companies, Longda and Dongbei, are the most prominent.
Among them, Dongbei's monthly revenue in the first half of the year showed a linear growth, with an average monthly growth rate of 20%. In June 2012, revenue reached 150 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 40%, a record high in 24 months.
　　 The growth of Dongbei mainly comes from two aspects:
One is the TV LED backlight. Since last year, Dongbei has successfully entered the supply chain of Samsung, LG, Sharp, TCL, Hisense, Haier and Taiwanese TV brand manufacturers. Therefore, with the above-mentioned manufacturers actively promoting the launch of new LED TV products, revenues will increase month by month.
The second is the small and medium size panel LED backlight. In the first half of this year, the first tablet PC Nexus 7 that ASUS and Google cooperated with, the LED backlight is exclusively supplied by Dongbei. By the end of June, Dongbei had shipped more than 3 million Nexus 7 backlights.
