Process stability


COB (Chip On Board), which is a packaged RGB chip on a circuit board, is a new full-color LED technology based on the solid crystal plane technology and precise dispensing technology. In the process of COB products, the PCB board is first mounted on the IC, and then the wafer is fixed on the surface of the substrate. Then, an electrical connection is established between the wafer and the substrate by wire bonding, and after the inspection is passed, the glue is sealed and becomes A full-color LED module.


The traditional surface-mount LED display has a lot of processing technology. During the reflow process, the expansion coefficient of the SMD lamp holder and the epoxy resin is different due to the high temperature state, which easily causes the bracket and the epoxy resin package to fall off. In the gap, the dead light phenomenon gradually appears in the later use, resulting in a high defect rate.


The reason why the COB technology display screen is more stable is that it does not need to go through the reflow soldering lamp in the processing technology, so as to avoid the problem of gap between the lamp holder and the epoxy resin caused by the high temperature soldering in the welding machine, so the COB product Dead lights are not easy to appear after leaving the factory. In addition, COB's unique packaging method also effectively protects the LEDs and enhances their resistance.


Luminous effect


The COB product packs the lamp on the PCB, so the heat is directly radiated through the PCB. The heat is easily dissipated and hardly causes serious light attenuation, so the lamp is rarely dead, which greatly extends the life of the display. The traditional surface-mount LED product chip is fixed in the cup, not directly in contact with the PCB. It mainly dissipates heat through the gel and the four pads. The heat dissipation area is small, and the heat will be concentrated on the chip, which will cause serious light attenuation for a long time. Even dead lights reduce the life and quality of the display.



Durability


COB process small-pitch LED display has anti-impact, waterproof, moisture-proof, dust-proof, anti-oil, anti-oxidation, anti-static and other properties, so it is wear-resistant, easy to clean. The surface of the lamp point is convex into a spherical surface, which is smooth and hard, and is resistant to collision and wear; when there is a bad point, it can be repaired point by point; without a mask, dust can be cleaned with water or cloth.


Energy saving


The COB display adopts a large chip light-emitting diode, which can effectively improve the brightness, uniform heat dissipation, small brightness attenuation coefficient, and maintain good consistency after long-term use. The technicians use 480*480mm cabinets, and the brightness is 1000nit. The energy consumption of COB-P2.5 and SMD-P2.5 is compared. The COB consumes 80.57W SMD and consumes 165.7W, which can be used to give the same brightness. Under the COB, COB heat dissipation is smaller and more energy efficient.


The significant advantages of COB packaging technology in terms of stability, luminous efficacy, durability, power consumption, etc., have laid the technical and market position that COB packaging has become the mainstream packaging.
