Zeiss and Dacuda Collaborate on Wireless Headspace Positioning

Recently, Zeiss and Dacuda formally announced their cooperation and announced their cooperation projects: providing space-based positioning for wireless head phones based on mobile phones. As their own research and development testing machine vaiaVR, some HTC Vive games are currently supported.

Currently, although smart phones based VR headsets have the advantage of wireless, the limited use of gyroscopes can only achieve the effect of in-situ rotation, which greatly limits the practicality of wireless headsets.

However, Zeiss and Dacuda collaborated to develop a wireless heads-up display that incorporates a free 6-degree system developed by them to track every change in position and angle of the head-mounted display. The principle is to use the built-in camera of the smart phone to perform framing including the depth of the real environment, and use it as a reference object to perform a rapid spatial positioning on the head.

According to Dacuda, the free 6 degree technology they developed is currently the world's first wireless headspace spatial location solution, and the future partner will be Google’s Daydream.
