Air purifier environmental certification rules released

Recently, the China Quality Certification Center of the United Nations Home Environment and Indoor Environmental Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center officially issued the "Air Purifier Environmental Certification Rules" (hereinafter referred to as the "Rules"). Experts said that most air purifiers on the market currently have no effect on PM2.5. The implementation of this rule will enable consumers to have evidence based on their purchase.

The "Regulations" released this time covered all domestic air purifiers and required inspection of the purification performance and sterilizing performance of the products. Among them, solid-state pollutants, gaseous pollutants, and microbiological purification efficiencies of more than or equal to 40% were achieved, respectively. If it is greater than or equal to 25% and greater than or equal to 50%, it can be determined that the product has related performance.

Only products that pass the inspection are allowed to use the logo marked "China Environmental Product Certification." Relevant person in charge said that the first batch of air purifier products that have been identified will soon be announced and labeled, and consumers will have evidence to follow when they purchase.

In addition, experts also reminded that the use and maintenance of purifiers are very important. If they are not cleaned and maintained on time, high-efficiency purifiers may become a source of pollution.
