SupporTIveRoboTIcs has introduced a groundbreaking underwater drone called Allec, designed to operate autonomously with the help of GPS and an advanced AI recognition system. This innovative device is set to launch in October next year, offering users a powerful tool for underwater exploration and monitoring.
Allec comes equipped with an artificial intelligence object recognition system capable of identifying 10 different targets, including marine life, seaweed, divers, and more. This feature makes it ideal for environmental research, underwater inspections, and recreational use. The drone is currently raising funds on Kickstarter, with early bird pricing starting at $649.
In remote control mode, Allec can be connected to a surface buoy via a 30-meter cable that uses a WiFi module to communicate wirelessly with the user. With this setup, users can control the drone through iOS or Android apps and capture high-quality 1080P/30fps videos. This makes it easy to monitor underwater environments from a safe distance.
When operating in autopilot mode, Allec relies on GPS, a compass, and internal sensors to follow a pre-programmed path without the need for a buoy. It also includes a water pressure sensor to track depth and a flow meter to measure current speed, making navigation more precise and efficient.
