Fujitsu's high-performance graphics system controller product integrates the high-performance CPU core "FR81S", which is a single chip solution that integrates various functions such as color display and video input and instrument control. This series of products can be applied to automobile dashboards. In addition to the MB91590 series that supports color LCD display, Fujitsu also launched the MB91570 series that supports segment LCD display.

This time, Fujitsu launched six "MB91590 series" system chips for in-vehicle applications, supporting automotive dashboards (instrument panels) and in-vehicle HMI systems, integrating color display, video input and instrument control into a single chip. This series of products integrates a world-class high-performance CPU core "FR81S", a unique Sprite graphics display controller (GDC), graphics display memory (VRAM), and video capture for external input images in a single chip. And communication functions such as CAN and LIN. Since the conventional system is composed of a graphics display controller, an MCU for control, and external graphics display memory, the new product series reduces the cost and chip package size by reducing peripheral circuits compared to the conventional system. In addition, since the number of externally connected buses for noise generation sources is reduced and noise removal components are reduced, the system can achieve high performance at a lower cost.

To ensure that R & D personnel can successfully use these products in design, Fujitsu provides development environment kits, including the latest one-line on-chip debugger (simulator) and the comprehensive development environment SOFTUNEV6. In addition, Fujitsu also provides StarterKit and sample programs, graphic design tools and graphic libraries, etc., to facilitate designers who do not have the relevant knowledge of the GDC embedded in the product to visually test the display design.

The CPU core FR81S used in this product runs at a maximum internal operating frequency of 128MHz. The CAN embedded microcontroller of this product can provide world-class high-speed processing functions. In addition, this product also includes a single-precision floating-point unit for filtering and high-speed image processing, and a memory protection unit to prevent external intrusion into the storage area.

Built-in NOR new flash memory architecture

The new product has a built-in NOR-type new flash architecture (NewFlasharchitecture), through the use of NOR-type flash memory high-speed and low power consumption mode, to achieve high-speed reading of the program, thereby improving the MCU processing capacity.

2D graphics rendering engine integrated inside the graphics display controller

In addition to advanced Sprite technology, including automatic flicker, movement, dynamic images, and anti-aliasing, this series of products also integrates many display functions for car dashboards, including internal video memory, line drawing, and area replication. In addition, the video capture function can receive video signals in digital YUB / RGB format, and a built-in NTSC decoder to process analog video content. It can zoom the captured image and perform 90 degree rotation. Because it can expand and display images encoded with string length, it can process video data with less memory capacity.
