Apple has reached a cooperation agreement with 15 domestic banks. After the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, China may be the first Asian country to open Apple Pay.

Apple Pay is an NFC-based mobile payment function released by Apple at the 2014 Apple Autumn New Product Launch Conference. It was officially launched on October 20, 2014. At present, iPhone 6 or later mobile phones, or Apple Watch products can be paid online through the store.

However, because of the involvement of banks, offline stores and other aspects, as well as the division of fees, Apple Pay is not fast in the world.

On December 18 last year, Apple and China UnionPay officially announced cooperation. UnionPay cardholders will use the iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad to pay through the UnionPay cloud flash payment technology. Through the support of China UnionPay and 15 major Chinese banks, Chinese users can enjoy a seamless, secure and private payment experience.

However, at the time, after the announcement of the cooperation, the two sides did not further announce when the service was officially launched in mainland China.

The industry's expectations for Apple Pay are not high. One of the main reasons is that Alipay and WeChat payment have been fighting in the mainland market for a long time, and both of them use the method of "burning money" to promote large subsidies for users. Although Apple is strong, it is usually not used in localized services.

In January, Apple's vice president of marketing, Phil Schiller, came to China to interview Sina Technology in Shanghai. When asked about Apple Pay, he did not specify the service at home. The date of the official launch, did not comment on Alipay and other domestic rivals, just replied: "Apple has always been concerned about what they are doing, not too much consideration of other people's actions."

In addition, there is another saying that Apple and UnionPay have reached an agreement that Apple Pay will be online one month ahead of other manufacturers' mobile payment services. This news has not been verified by UnionPay or any manufacturer, and it is not clear whether Apple has reached an agreement with the central bank.
