The powerful built-in N-channel MOSFET gate drivers allow the use of high-power external MOSFETs, enabling output currents up to 25A with output voltages ranging from 0.6V to 5.5V. This makes the LTC3833 ideal for point-of-load power supply designs where efficiency and performance are critical. Its differential amplifier provides accurate remote sensing of both positive and negative output terminals, eliminating the impact of trace resistance, vias, and interconnect IR drops (up to ±500mV), ensuring precise regulation.
The LTC3833 supports a minimum on-time of 20ns, which is essential for high step-down ratio power supplies operating at high frequencies. The switching frequency can be set between 200kHz and 2MHz or synchronized with an external clock source.
