Nvidia Releases "The Strongest Unmanned Vehicle Learning Machine" in History

On January 8, chip giant Nvidia held a press conference at CES to announce a series of news about Xavier, the unmanned vehicle machine learning chip. The first Xavier products released last year have already begun delivery to customers.

Nvidia founder and CEO Huang Renxun also released the DRIVEXavie, unmanned vehicle super AI chip. This "best ever" SOC has 9 billion transistors built in, an area of ​​350mm, and a process of 12nFFN. It can support 30 trillion operations per second, power is only 30 watts, and energy efficiency is 15 times better than the previous generation architecture. Huang Renxun demonstrated the amazing processing speed of this chip on the spot, and 8 TelsaV10 chips can recognize up to 7012 pictures per second. DRIVEXavier will ship in the first quarter of this year.

In addition, Nvidia also announced three "brothers" of the DRIVEAI platform, which are also based on the DRIVEXavie chip.

The DRIVEAR platform, as the name implies, supports the addition of AR functionality to the car. It provides developers with SDKs that help add computer vision, images, and artificial intelligence to superimpose traffic information, points of interest, and other information into the real world.

DRIVEIX is an in-vehicle virtual private assistant platform that allows developers to access internal and external sensor data, allowing personal assistants to interact with drivers. Nvidia believes that all cars in the future will have personal assistants, and DRIVEIX will become an important driving force.

The last platform is the updated Pegasus, which is based on Nvidia's CUDA GPU and is functionally equivalent to a self-driving car brain. The new version of Pegasus has two Xavier chips and two Nvidia GPUs. The area is equivalent to a car license, which is much smaller than the previous version.

Nvidia currently has 25 Pegasus customers, which will be delivered to some customers in the middle of this year. The chip giant is working with more than 320 companies on unmanned vehicle chips.
