Recently, the 14th China International Machine Vision Exhibition and the Machine Vision Technology and Industrial Application Seminar (VisionChina2017) took place at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. The event showcased a wide range of products, including cameras, lenses, lighting systems, smart cameras, image software, visual inspection systems, and more. It provided companies with a platform to present their innovations and connect with potential clients, while also offering users practical solutions tailored to various industrial applications.
At the exhibition, a variety of advanced machine vision technologies were on display, reflecting the industry's maturity and broad application across different sectors. Visitors from fields such as medicine, logistics, fashion, e-commerce, and manufacturing were seen exploring the latest developments. This demonstrated how machine vision is no longer confined to traditional manufacturing but is now expanding into diverse industries.
According to the exhibition organizers, machine vision is a key branch of artificial intelligence, essentially replacing human eyes with machines to perform measurements and inspections. It is often referred to as the “eye†of smart manufacturing, playing a crucial role in enhancing productivity and automation. As industries continue to evolve and adopt smart manufacturing practices, the demand for advanced machine vision technology is growing rapidly.
A typical machine vision system uses image capture devices to convert target objects into image signals, which are then processed by specialized software to extract morphological information. These signals are converted into digital data based on pixel distribution, brightness, and color, enabling precise analysis and decision-making.

During the exhibition, it was evident that machine vision is gaining traction in the security industry as well. Haikang Technology showcased a range of innovative products, including 10GbE network cameras and VPU platform smart cameras, which are used in robotic systems. Meanwhile, Beijing Qingying Machine Vision Technology Co., Ltd. presented its "Universal Three-Dimensional Instant Imaging Technology," which offers both "universal" and "instant" capabilities, filling a gap in the domestic machine vision market.
