Zhang Xiaojun: Why did you cut into this field at the beginning? In the final analysis, it originated from the magic of AR. After seeing AR products in 2009, I was shocked and fascinated. I have been paying attention to the development of AR. Since then, I have been working on CV/AR core research and development at Sharp Asia Research Center and Shanda Innovation Institute. So, in 2012, three partners were created and the information was created. At the beginning of the business, we predict that all APPs will have AR capabilities in the future. Therefore, the accumulation of localized AR content is our focus, and the platform for AR visual search portal and content will be our long-term vision. We have launched the visual + AR browser, the visual +AR editor, and EasyAR, which enable all industries with AR needs to use our technology and services, and use AR to enhance the application scenarios and services of the enterprise. Among them, EasyAR, which has been independently developed, has become the AR engine with the largest market share in the domestic market.

Zhang Xiaojun: When we started doing AR in 2012, there was actually no such fire, and there was no such big market demand. At that time, it was purely interest. Including early 2014, we talked to investors about AR, and they didn't understand much. In 2014 and 2015, AR development has turned around. This is driven by three aspects. First, the popularity of smartphones and 4G networks. Second, industry giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Oculas have begun to lay out AR. This has greatly educated the market. Third, in the past year, several industry explosions, including early education products and games like Pokemon, have quickly stimulated market demand, and consumers have a good experience and understanding.

Especially this year we are feeling the earth-shaking changes in this market, that is, everyone suddenly knows what AR is, and then they will ask how to apply. These things have also given us great confidence, because the education market is really too difficult, but now it is partly because the market is pulling us forward, which is the development of the entire AR industry, and practitioners like us. It is simply the best change.

Zhang Xiaojun: I believe that AR must be artificial intelligence in the end. Because AR solved what problem? The two problems of visual search and visual enhancement, especially the basis of visual search is AR, which is equivalent to an AR terminal or assistant, which will eventually take over your eyes and then help you to observe and understand the whole world. The thing that works is artificial intelligence. But at this stage, the combination of AR and AI is not so close, but in the end it will definitely go together. This is an inevitable trend.

As for the relationship between AR and the Internet of Things, the layout of PTC has been well explained. In October last year, foreign counterpart Vuforia was acquired by PTC from the Qualcomm subsidiary Qualcomm Connected Experience (QCE) for $65 million. PTC is a company that makes industrial project software and the Internet of Things. The potential link is that AR is also an Internet of Things. It is just a visual-based Internet of Things. It is not based on a chip or a protocol IoT. It is the process of perceiving the world through visual means and then passing this data back.

What problem does AR solve in the Internet of Things? It is to solve the problem of information presentation and interaction, that is to say, after all things are connected, how do you present this information? For example, you need to observe a server. You can observe it through the Internet of Things. It may also be based on the information of the server on the mobile phone, the Pad, etc. This is the Internet of Things in the basic sense. But what can be done when the elements of AR are superimposed? When I look at this server with my eyes, all the information has been seamlessly and in real time superimposed on the server. The bandwidth, traffic and other data have been suspended on the server. What is the temperature of the server and the fan is not fast? They are very intuitive to present in front of you. From this perspective, I think AR is the most important part of the Internet of Things.
