[Global Science and Technology Report] According to Hong Kong's Oriental Daily News, on April 18th, after two years of dispute, Google reached an out-of-court settlement with the Russian Anti-Monopoly Bureau (FAS) on the 17th for an anti-monopoly lawsuit and agreed to go to Russia. The authorities paid a fine of nearly 8 million U.S. dollars (about 55.04 million yuan) and opened Android phones to other competing search engines in Russia.

According to reports, Yandex, Russia’s largest search engine, complained in 2015 that Google had unfair advantages by preloading search engines on Android phones. Google’s lawsuit reached an agreement with FAS on the 17th.
Google issued an e-mail statement saying "We are pleased to announce that we have reached a commercial agreement with Yandex and reached a solution with FAS that is in the interests of all parties."
Russia’s FAS said that after Google’s new device is updated, it will develop methods for Android devices that have been used in Russia, allowing consumers to select the default search engine.
