LTE rapidly popularizes users in the next five years to reach 428 million in 2016

November 23, Beijing time morning news (Jiang Junmu) market research agency Juniper Research predicts that LTE mobile broadband technology will be rapidly popularized in the next five years, but the Global coverage is limited. By 2016, the number of LTE subscribers will reach 428 million, but only 6% of the global population base.

According to Juniper's analysis, this substantial growth will mainly occur in the following years starting from 2012, and many operators are currently preparing to clarify their deployment goals.

In the first few years, LTE will be mainly applied by enterprise users. However, during 2013, the growth in the number of individual users will begin to take off and eventually exceed the number of corporate users in 2015.

The author of the report, Nitin Bhas, added: “Initially LTE was offered as a premium service, and business users will be attracted to higher data rates and their service guarantees. This new factor is expected to drive consumer adoption in the future. Then there is LTE technology embedded in the terminal."

Tablets and smartphones dominate The report found that LTE smartphones and tablets will dominate the LTE networked end-user terminal market, and by 2016 it is expected to account for 50% of all LTE users. LTE smartphones are expected to accompany the migration of high-end data users to faster technologies and achieve early traction in the corporate market.

Juniper also pointed out that enterprise users will lead the initial phase of LTE tablet PCs. However, the agency expects that the number of individual users will gradually surpass the number of corporate users since 2013.
