Application of MF2410 in LED Bulbs

In recent years, environmental protection and energy conservation issues have received much attention. At the same time, many new energy industries have also flourished. Solar energy, LED lighting, wind power generation, and renewable energy are all hot industries at this stage. Because LED has the advantages of small size, low energy consumption, long life, no mercury and environmental protection, LED has been promoted to the lighting industry only as an indication or backlight application.
LED lighting applications are widely used, including: architectural lighting, indoor lighting (bulb light, xenon lamp, projection lamp), outdoor lighting (street light), consumer hand-held lighting (flashlight, headlights). Among them, due to the government's promotion, the growth of indoor lighting (bulb light) applications will continue to increase.
LED Bulb has the advantage of saving energy, but the "temperature" LED bulb is a problem to be faced. If the heat is not effectively dissipated, the LED bulb light decay speed will be greatly improved, and its life cannot meet the needs of consumers. At present, most household LED bulbs use a heat sink to solve the temperature problem. The larger the surface area of ​​the heat sink, the better the heat dissipation performance. In the case of limited size, increasing the channel depth is one of the ways to increase the surface area. However, as the depth of the channel increases, the internal mounting space of the power circuit board and the resin case is reduced. This will force the power supply circuit board of the LED bulb to be designed in a miniaturized direction. Therefore, the fuse on the power supply side is also changed from the plug-in type that was originally used to the patch type to obtain more space utilization.

In order to stimulate the LED bulb to be widely used in the market, the price of the product must be close to the price acceptable to the consumer. Based on this factor, it is also important for manufacturers to reduce procurement costs and reduce factory manufacturing costs in terms of components and materials.
In the manufacturing assembly line of LED bulbs, the mounting, soldering and assembly of the power board occupies most of the manufacturing costs. Therefore, using automated operations and shortening the production process will directly reduce costs. Generally, the LED power supply board adopts a single-layer PCB, and the plug-in and the chip assembly are designed as much as possible to complete all the welding by one wave soldering. Under the influence of this design idea, once the fuse is replaced by a plug-in type, it must face the high temperature (≥260 ̊C) and thermal shock caused by wave soldering.
Commonly used 2410 size 125Vac or 250Vac rated voltage chip fuses on the market, mostly using traditional square ceramic tube technology. The ends of this type of chip fuse are directly placed on the square ceramic tube with a metal cap, and the metal cap is welded to the internal fuse by solder. Once the product is operated on a high-temperature SMT line, the solder that connects the metal caps and the internal fuses at both ends is likely to melt again due to high temperatures, which in turn causes the metal cap to fall off.
AEM technology adopts unique process technology, based on FR4 PCB, with copper foil on the PCB as the terminal structure, and then electroplating to complete the whole end operation, effectively avoiding the risk of tip falling off.
The MF2410 chip fuse is available in 250Vac (0.5~2A) specifications with a maximum breaking current of 100A. The products have passed UL and CQC safety certification, and are the smallest 250VAC chip fuses in the global market that can meet the IEC60127-4 standard.
