The term ultra-wideband ( UWB ) was first proposed by the US Department of Defense in 1989. Because ultra-broadband can coexist with other communication systems, ultra-broadband has developed rapidly, and the market application is broader.

Huawei released and highlighted the next-generation bearer network architecture U2Net (Ubiquitous Ultra-broadband Network Architecture) built by Huawei at this year's communications exhibition. U2Net is oriented to IP video and cloud applications, and can achieve 100M bandwidth access capability through an end-to-end ultra-broadband network architecture. At the same time, U2Net will further enhance the flexibility of the network to adapt to new services based on storage and software definition.

Recently, Alcatel-Lucent announced the launch of enhanced broadband products to further promote the development of ultra-high-speed broadband services. Using the first commercialized VDSL2 vectorization technology, Alcatel-Lucent will help operators significantly increase the speed and capacity of existing copper wire access networks, and bring broadband services that exceed 100Mbps to corporate users and ordinary consumers.
