Kindle Fire's quarterly shipments are estimated at 6 million units

Kindle Fire's quarterly shipments are estimated at 6 million units Market research firm DisplaySearch recently raised the Amazon Kindle Fire shipment forecast this quarter. According to this forecast, the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet will be one of the hottest consumer electronics products this holiday season.

DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim said: “We estimate the number of shipments will be as high as 6 million units. The initial 4 million units were production schedules established by the manufacturers, but after Amazon’s open pre-order, this figure was raised to 5 million units. About a week and a half ago, the actual city date was getting closer and the figure was raised to 6 million units.

Amazon Kindle Fire tablet, already on sale on November 15. Another market research firm eDataSource reported last week that Kindle Fire's pre-purchase sales momentum is very strong.

The Kindle Fire Tablet PC is selling well and has already hit other tablet providers. We have previously reported that Dell, Asus, and Acer may be eliminated or actively exit the Android tablet market next year. However, both Asus and Dell later denied that they intend to withdraw from the Android tablet business.

Richard Shim said that the Apple iPad2 is still a very successful product. However, Apple has pulled down its iPad 2 orders this quarter because Apple is planning to release the iPad 3 in the first quarter of next year. iPad2 expects its production figures to fall from 11 million to 9 million units this quarter, which means that Apple has already begun to produce iPad 3 with a resolution of 2048x1536. At present, the actual production volume of the iPad 3 is still unclear, because the high-resolution panel used by the iPad 3 is still more difficult to mass-produce. However, it is estimated that the iPad 3 shipment volume in the first quarter is about 8 million units.
