LG Electronics has recently launched its newest flagship television, the OLED TV ThinQ, in South Korea, with a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence capabilities. This new model is part of LG's AI brand, ThinQ, and comes in three sizes: 55-inch, 65-inch, and 77-inch. The TV runs on Web OS 4.0, supports 4K HFR/HDR, and features HDR 10 Pro technology. Its design is sleek, with a metal base on the lower back panel, making the thinnest point just as thin as a piece of paper.
At the heart of the TV is the Alpha 9 (α9) artificial intelligence engine, which enhances image quality by analyzing input content in four steps. It reduces noise, separates objects from the background, and automatically adjusts contrast and saturation for optimal visual performance.
The AI-powered TV also supports natural language processing, allowing users to control the TV using voice commands. By pressing the microphone button on the Magic Remote, users can ask for specific functions such as playing a yoga video or searching for classic game videos on YouTube. The AI will then handle the request automatically.
Additionally, the TV can provide program schedules, adjust volume, switch channels, offer broadcast tips, and even suggest turning off the TV at appropriate times. It also adapts video modes—such as movies, sports, and games—to deliver the best possible image and sound quality based on the content being viewed.
This year, LG plans to release 10 OLED TV models, including the LG SIGNATURE OLED W TV, which resembles a wallpaper and features an 8K resolution screen. This vertical design is ideal for users who have challenging wall installation needs.
In terms of pricing, all new LG TVs this year are on average 20% cheaper than last year’s models. The 55-inch version ranges from 3 million to 3.6 million won (approximately 17,692–21,228 CNY), the 65-inch model from 5.2 million to 11.1 million won (around 30,663–64,873 CNY), and the 77-inch model from 17 million to 24 million won (about 100,259–141,542 CNY). The cheapest model is now priced 690,000 won (around 4,069 CNY) lower than the same period last year.
