It seems that computer performance issues, like "carding" (sluggishness), are an ongoing problem. Even though we keep sharing solutions, as soon as Microsoft releases a patch, new issues tend to pop up. After installing the recent Windows 10 quality update KB4074588 last week, many users reported their systems started lagging again — Kakakakakaka, as some call it.

After doing some thorough research, I found out that the issue is often caused by several unnecessary Windows 10 services. If your PC feels slow or unresponsive, and you're worried about background processes using too much memory or CPU, you can check this in Task Manager. Go to the "Services" tab, click on each service, and then right-click and select "Go to Details" to see what's running behind the scenes.

If you notice that "svchost.exe" is consuming a lot of CPU or memory, that’s likely the main culprit. However, be cautious — make sure the service you’re looking at isn’t a core Windows component. Some services, like the Help and Support, Online Search, or other non-essential ones, can safely be disabled without affecting system stability.

Alright, enough with the chatter. Let’s get to the solution. Right-click on "This PC" and choose "Manage." Navigate to the "Services" section. Look for the following services: "Connected User Experiences and Telemetry," "Diagnostic Execution Service," "Diagnostic Policy Service," "Diagnostic Service Host," and "Diagnostic System Host." Disable them all. These services are mainly responsible for collecting user data and diagnostics, and turning them off won’t affect normal system operation.

If your PC still feels sluggish across all versions of Windows 10, it might be time to consider upgrading. The new school season is approaching, and many online retailers and brands will run promotions (even if prices remain high). Keep an eye out for deals if you're planning to replace your machine soon.
