0 Preface

In the context of advocating green environmental protection and energy conservation at home and abroad, along with recent significant improvements in LED efficacy, lifetime and light color, semiconductor light-emitting diodes (LEDs) have energy saving, long life, simple driving, and a wide variety of lamp colors. The advantages have been widely used in landscape lighting, digital traffic information display, grooming logo, outdoor full-color display and indoor and outdoor lighting with low illumination requirements.

In view of the application status of LED in urban lighting, the author designed and manufactured an LED landscape lighting by using power electronic rectification and constant current technology, which has the characteristics of low cost, reliable operation, long life and simple control, and can be based on actual conditions. The requirements are extended by functions.

1 low power LED driver solution

At present, low-power LED products widely use two types of drive circuits, namely constant current drive and regulated drive. The current output from the former circuit is constant, and the output voltage varies with the load; the latter output voltage is fixed, and the output current varies with the increase or decrease of the load (the number of LEDs). According to the power input and output circuit form, it can also be divided into isolated drive and non-isolated drive. The former is represented by switching power supply, while the latter mainly includes capacitive buck and constant current / constant voltage IC. Its related performance, power consumption, cost and The main applications are shown in Table 1.
