According to the report of the company, Leonardo DRS recently released the first innovative product of the 10 um uncooled thermal imaging camera for the OEM, the Tenum 640 thermal imaging sensor.
The Tenum 640 is ideal for security surveillance applications; ground and air unmanned platforms for emergency, agricultural and high-risk applications; and personal vision systems for outdoor sports applications. In addition, the camera movement can be used in a variety of military applications.
The economical camera movement, the Tenum 640, combines a 10um ultra-small pixel structure, an ultra-sensitive vanadium oxide microbolometer and a 640 x 512 array. It delivers superior long-wave infrared (LWIR) imaging quality and detection capabilities of up to 60 frames per second. This high-resolution LWIR camera calibre features 24-bit RGB and YUV (4, 2, 2) image contrast enhancement called “ICE†and excellent sensitivity (less than 50 mK NETD).

The Tenum 640 is available with or without an optical lens and is available in a variety of lenses including 7.7 mm, 15 mm and 20 mm. Each well-sealed lens and mounting bracket supports IP67 dust and water resistance. Designed for harsh environments and extreme temperatures, the Tenum 640 package ensures stable operation from -40 °C to +80 °C.
The Tenum 640 will be exclusively distributed in the US commercial OEM market through Sierra Olympic Technologies, Inc. (SOTI), the main distributor of Leonardo DRS. SOTI is also the US main distributor of the Leonardo DRS commercial uncooled thermal imaging movement. SOTI sells and distributes related products to customers who integrate the Leonardo DRS Tamarisk uncooled infrared imaging movement for a variety of dual-use applications.
