Cypress's EZ-PDTM CCG2 is a USB type-c controller that complies with the latest USB type-c and PD standards. The EZ-PD CCG2 provides a complete USB type-c and USB powered port control solution for passive cables, active cables and power accessories. The EZ-PDCCG2 uses Cypress's dedicated M0S8 technology, which uses 32-bit 48 MHz ARM® Cortex®-M0 processor with 32 KB of flash; this processor integrates a complete Type-C transceiver including RP, RD and RAtype-c resistors. Mainly used in USB Type-C type EMCA cable, power supply accessories, upstream port and downstream port. CCG2 60W Car Charger Reference Design

The CCG2 60W Car Charger Reference Design Board is a receptacle based USB-C Charger with USB PD 2.0 and QC 3.0 (Class –A and Class –B) support. In the PD mode, it supports 5V@3A, 7V@3A, 8V @3A, 9V@3A, 12V@3A, 15V@3A and 20V@3A output. The board can be programmed to support any output voltage between 0 to 20V with 100mV resolution. It is designed to work with standard Car Lighter Attachment (CLA It works with any DC input between 4V to 24V.

The two major components on the board are Cypress's EZ-PD CCG2 (CYPD2134-24LQXIT) controller and On Semiconductor's NCP81239 DC-DC Buck-Boost controller.

The CCG2 device handles USB Type-C interface, Power Delivery (PD) 2.0, QC 3.0, Cable compensation and primary Over Current Protection (OCP). The buck-boost conversion, Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Voltage Protection (OVP) The board hardware design files (schematic, bill of materials, layout etc) are readily available below for customers to reduce the design cycle.
